Full Interior Detail at Lugano (LSZA)
Deep cabin clean between legs—planned around Lugano's short opening windows and single-strip operation.
Full Interior Detail at Lugano (LSZA) delivers a complete cabin refresh for light and mid-size business jets transiting Switzerland's southern lakeside airport. The service addresses leather, veneer, carpets, galley, lavatory and flight deck with aviation-approved products, scheduled to fit between legs or overnight when the airport grants an extension. Lugano lives entirely on business aviation, and the airport company handles all ramp access; we coordinate directly with them to position equipment airside, complete the detail inside the published hours, and return the aircraft to you with a photo report and tech-log entry.

Every touchpoint in the cabin receives attention. We clean and condition the leather on seats, divans and sidewall panels, removing body oils and restoring suppleness. Carpets and fabric upholstery are extracted with hot-water equipment; stains are treated individually before the main pass. Veneer, metal brightwork and plastic trim are polished to remove fingerprints and scuffs.
The galley and lavatory receive a deep scrub: counters, sinks, drains, seals and waste compartments. We use products that respect aircraft materials and leave no residue that might interfere with seals or drains. The flight deck is cleaned with no-touch avionics procedures—screens, yokes, throttles and panels wiped without aerosols near instruments. If you request it, we finish with a cabin disinfection pass using aviation-safe quaternary-ammonium or hydrogen-peroxide vapour.
Duration runs from four hours for a light jet to ten for an ultra-long-range cabin with complex monument arrangements. The aircraft remains on stand throughout, connected to GPU if you need environmental control during the work.
What changes at Lugano?
Lugano sits at 915 feet elevation with a single 1,415-metre runway, which confines the fleet to light and mid-size jets and turboprops. The airport has no scheduled airline service and exists entirely for business and general aviation; handling is provided by Lugano Airport SA from the main terminal on Via Aeroporto. Operating hours are narrow: 08:00–12:00 and 13:30–20:00 local every day, with a lunch closure and a firm 20:00 curfew. Movements outside those windows require PPR at least 48 hours in advance and carry a surcharge; extensions are possible only between 07:00–08:00 and 20:00–22:00.
For any on-ramp detail, the work must either fit inside the published hours or be planned around a PPR extension you have already secured. If you land at 19:00 and depart the next morning at 09:00, we schedule the detail overnight with the airport's permission. If you arrive mid-afternoon for a same-day turnaround, we start immediately after engine shutdown and finish before the 20:00 closure. The handler expects us to hold our own airside escort and to notify them when we enter and leave the apron; we carry that coordination so your crew signs only the final tech-log entry.
How do you schedule a full interior between legs?
As soon as you have a slot or an estimated block time, send us the registration, aircraft type, arrival and departure, and the handler's reference number. We confirm availability, then notify Lugano Airport SA that a third-party detailing crew will work the aircraft. The handler issues our airside pass on the day, valid for the duration of the job.
If your turnaround is tight—four hours or less—we propose starting the moment the cabin is cool enough to work and staging the job so that high-touch areas (seats, galley, lavatory) are finished first, leaving carpets and less-critical trim for the final hour. If you have an overnight or a longer day-stop, we schedule the full ten-hour programme without rushing. Either way, we build a buffer before your departure so the cabin can air out and any damp extraction spots can dry fully.
Because the airport closes at lunch and again at 20:00, coordination matters more here than at a 24-hour field. We keep the handler informed of progress and call you or your dispatcher if weather or an inbound delay shifts the window.
What does the handler expect from a third-party crew at Lugano?
Lugano Airport SA manages the entire ramp, so they want to know in advance that an external service provider will be working airside. We send them our company details, insurance certificate and the names of the technicians at least 24 hours before the aircraft arrives. On the day, we check in at the handling office—open from 07:00—collect the escort pass, and confirm the stand assignment.
The handler expects us to bring our own equipment, to respect the apron's operational flow, and to leave no waste or water pooling near the aircraft. We carry a small generator or arrange GPU power through them if the aircraft will be shut down. When the job is complete, we return the pass, notify them that the stand is clear, and leave a copy of the photo report and tech-log sticker with their dispatch so the crew has a complete record.
Because there is no competing FBO, the relationship is straightforward: the airport company handles everything, and they appreciate service providers who communicate clearly and work efficiently inside the published hours.
What access and airside logistics apply?
Lugano's compact apron means the aircraft is usually parked within a short walk of the terminal. We drive our van to the gate the handler assigns, unload equipment trolleys, and set up beside the cabin door. If the aircraft is cold-soaked or if you want environmental control during the detail, we coordinate GPU connection with the handler or run our generator at a distance that avoids exhaust near the air inlet.
Water for extraction comes from our own tanks; the airport has no ramp hydrant system for detailing. Waste water is captured in recovery tanks and disposed of at our facility off-site, so nothing goes onto the apron or into the airfield drainage. We carry our own lighting if the detail runs into the evening extension window, and we position it to avoid glare toward the tower or toward any other aircraft manoeuvring nearby.
The single runway and the absence of airline traffic mean the apron is usually quiet, but the handler still expects us to stay clear of any active taxiway edge and to keep radio contact if another movement is inbound. We hold that responsibility; your crew does not need to escort us.
What documentation and photo report do you provide?
At the end of the detail, we photograph the cabin in sections—seats, galley, lavatory, carpets, flight deck—and compile the images into a PDF report time-stamped and tagged with the registration and date. The report is emailed to the address you provide, usually the chief pilot or flight-department manager, and a printed copy is left in the cabin or handed to the handler for the crew file.
We also complete a tech-log sticker summarising the work: 'Full interior detail: leather cleaned and conditioned, carpets extracted, galley and lavatory deep cleaned, flight deck detailed, cabin disinfected [if requested].' The sticker goes into the aircraft's technical log, and a duplicate is kept in our own records for traceability. If you need an invoice reference number on the report or a specific format for your SMS, tell us in advance and we will match it.
The entire package—photos, sticker, handler notification—closes the loop so there is no ambiguity about what was done, when, and by whom. That traceability matters for any fleet programme or charter operation where the cabin must meet a documented standard between legs.
Questions operators ask about Full Interior Detail at Lugano
How long does a full interior detail take at Lugano?
Four to ten hours, depending on cabin size and the scope of stain treatment. A light jet with six seats and a simple galley takes about four hours. A super-midsize or large-cabin aircraft with complex veneer, multiple divans and a full galley and lavatory runs eight to ten hours. We adjust the schedule to fit your turnaround or overnight window.
Can you work outside Lugano's published hours?
Only if the aircraft holds a PPR extension granted by the airport at least 48 hours in advance. Lugano operates 08:00–12:00 and 13:30–20:00 daily, with extensions possible 07:00–08:00 and 20:00–22:00 under PPR. If your departure or arrival falls in those windows and you have airport approval, we schedule the detail accordingly. Without PPR, all work must finish by 20:00.
Do you coordinate directly with Lugano Airport SA?
Yes, we notify them in advance and collect our airside pass from their handling office on the day. We send the handler our company details and technician names at least 24 hours before the aircraft arrives. On the day, we check in at the office from 07:00, collect the escort pass, confirm the stand, and notify them when we finish so the apron is released.
What products do you use on leather and veneer?
Aviation-approved pH-neutral leather cleaners and conditioners, and solvent-free veneer polishes. We match the product to the OEM cabin materials. Leather receives a two-step clean and condition; veneer and brightwork are polished without silicone or wax that might leave residue. Every product is tested on a hidden area if the cabin is unfamiliar to us.
Can you disinfect the cabin as part of the detail?
Yes, we add a disinfection pass using aviation-safe quaternary-ammonium or hydrogen-peroxide vapour. The disinfection step is optional and adds about 30 minutes. We fog the cabin or wipe high-touch surfaces with a hospital-grade disinfectant that leaves no residue and is safe for avionics and fabrics. Useful before a charter or after a medical evacuation leg.
What if the aircraft is cold-soaked when you start?
We wait until the cabin warms to at least 10 °C, or we arrange GPU environmental control through the handler. Leather conditioner and carpet extraction chemistry both require a minimum cabin temperature to work properly and to dry without streaking. If the aircraft has been cold-soaked overnight in winter, we either delay the start or run the APU or GPU heating until the cabin is workable.
How do you handle waste water on the apron?
We capture all waste water in recovery tanks and dispose of it off-site; nothing goes onto the apron. Our extraction equipment has built-in recovery tanks. At the end of the job, we drive the van off the airfield and empty the tanks at our facility. Lugano has no ramp drain system for detailing waste, so contained disposal is the only compliant method.
Do you clean the flight deck as part of the full interior?
Yes, using no-touch avionics procedures: screens, yokes, throttles and panels wiped without aerosols. We treat the flight deck like a clean room. Screens are wiped with microfibre and distilled water or approved screen cleaner; yokes, throttles and switch panels are cleaned with a damp cloth. No aerosols, no spray near instruments, and no contact with circuit-breaker panels or pitot-static ports.
What photo report do you provide?
A time-stamped PDF with cabin section photos, emailed and printed, plus a tech-log sticker. We photograph seats, galley, lavatory, carpets and flight deck at the end of the detail, compile the images into a PDF tagged with registration and date, and email it to you. A printed copy is left in the cabin or with the handler, and a tech-log sticker summarises the work for your records.
How far in advance should we book a full interior at Lugano?
At least 48 hours, to align with the handler's notice period and to secure any PPR extension if needed. Lugano's narrow operating hours and the handler's preference for advance notice mean we need two days to confirm equipment, technician schedule and airside access. If your arrival is last-minute and falls inside published hours, call us; we will do our best to mobilise on shorter notice.
